Contactless Trivia Night
Contactless trivia night, a concept by Quizzoholics Trivia was born out of necessity. Because of the new covid-landscpape our trivia night company took a huge hit in 2020. As did the entire restaurant and events industries. During the initial lockdown in New Jersey we ran live streamed events. The demand for these events fizzled as people were inundated with a new live streamed lifestyle. Because of safety issues everything was being streamed from TV to gaming even work and school were online. The market was saturated and we lost focus on what made our trivia nights so successful in the first place.
It was time to refocus. Therefore, we put all of our creative effort into making the best possible contactless trivia night we could. And we made sure they were safe while still remaining incredibly fun.
Out with the old... in with the electronic.
Players no longer need to use paper score sheets. Because of this we've removed contact with the live event host. The game is played entirely from your mobile device. Each venue has homepage on our site now, where players register and answer questions. The answers are submitted electronically to the trivia night host.
What about cheaters?
Our biggest concern with using mobile devices is cheating. Truth be told, we haven't figured this one out 100%. However, we have also not had issues with this. We're lucky to be hosting these contactless trivia nights. Players are lucky to have an entertainment option that doesn't involve them being glued to the couch or office chair. This shared unspoken sentiment is what allows these events to run smoothly. We've split the prize money over 5 rounds and there are now 5 winners each night. The game is still team based, so the fact remains you're sharing the prize money. If you're cheating at trivia for a 5 way split of $10, I have no problem proclaiming you're a total loser and should kick rocks. People of low moral character who are hard pressed for 2 bucks tend not to visit our venues.
Event Breakdown
Each round consists of 10 questions from a specific or general theme. Our 3rd category remains the crowd favorite name that tune. Once the web form is completed and the 10th question is asked teams hurry to get their answers submitted. Because the round tie breaker goes to the first team to submit their answers. There is a short break in between each round and the total running time for these events is about 90 minutes. Come early and get settled. Order drinks and grab a bite to eat. Expect your visit to be around 2 hours.
